Terms of Use
These terms have not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction. They describe honestly how the app works and what it will not do. Consumer law where you live may give you rights that override anything written here.
1. Agreement
By using Steady Next you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use the app. You must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) to use it.
2. What Steady Next is not
This matters more than anything else here.
- Not therapy. It is not counselling, psychotherapy, or treatment, and using it does not create a therapeutic relationship.
- Not legal advice. It will not tell you whether to separate, reconcile, file, settle, sign, waive anything, move out, move money, or accept an arrangement. It does not calculate deadlines and does not interpret court orders.
- Not financial or tax advice.
- Not medical care and not a diagnosis of anything, for you or anyone else.
- Not mediation, custody evaluation, evidence preservation, or a document vault.
- Not an emergency service. It cannot summon help and cannot do safety planning.
Using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. For anything that affects your rights, your money, your children or your safety, talk to a qualified professional where you live. The resources page lists free routes to some of them.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Steady Next to:
- plan or carry out harm to yourself or anyone else;
- monitor, track, impersonate, pressure, deceive, harass or retaliate against another person;
- conceal or dispose of assets, destroy or manufacture evidence, or evade a legal obligation;
- produce a message intended to threaten, shame, manipulate, or get around someone’s boundary;
- attempt to break, reverse-engineer or circumvent the app’s protections.
The app declines these requests rather than answering them.
4. Optional reflections
Reflections are produced by software, not by a person. They are optional, off by default, and subordinate to your own judgement. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unhelpful. They are not advice, not a diagnosis, and not a prediction. Do not act on one for anything consequential without checking it with someone qualified.
You control what is sent: before every request the exact text is shown and you can strike out any part of it or cancel. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to it.
5. Safety features and their limits
The app tries to notice when something you write might be about danger rather than a difficult day, and steps aside to offer human help. It will miss things. It is not a monitoring service, nobody is watching, and it never contacts anyone on your behalf. Get help now is always available whether or not it triggers.
The app lock, app-switcher cover and neutral notifications reduce what a passer-by can see. They cannot protect a device that another person controls, and the app does not claim otherwise.
6. Resources
Resource listings are provided for convenience and were checked against each organisation’s own website on the date shown. Steady Next does not operate them, is not responsible for them, and cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy. Details change.
7. Your content and your responsibility
What you write stays yours. Steady Next claims no rights over it and, by design, has no copy of it. Because there is no account and no server-side backup, you are responsible for exporting anything you want to keep. Deleting the app deletes everything in it.
8. Subscriptions
- Daily plans, check-ins, the roadmap, the journal, the toolkit, reminders and reflections require an active subscription.
- Prices and billing periods come from the App Store in your own currency and are shown before you buy.
- There is no free trial. Access begins when you subscribe and not before.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in the App Store.
- Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies. Steady Next cannot issue one.
- Restore Purchases recovers an existing subscription on the same Apple Account.
- Losing a subscription never deletes anything you wrote, and never removes your access to help resources, export or deletion.
9. Availability
The app is provided as it is. Features may change or be withdrawn. Optional reflections may be switched off at any time, including for safety reasons. Core local features (your plan, your journal, export and deletion) are designed to keep working with no network at all.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its design and its written content belong to its author. You may use the app; you may not copy, redistribute or resell its content.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent the law where you live allows, Steady Next is provided without warranties and its author is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Consumer protection law may give you rights that these terms cannot remove.
12. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it, which deletes your data with it. Access to subscription features may be suspended for use that breaks section 3.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the developer of Steady Next is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Where local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country, that right is unaffected.
